Zesty Paws rolls out new supplement to combat canine obesity in the U.S.

The launch is timely, given that nearly 59% of American dogs are overweight or obese, according to data from the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention.

USA – Zesty Paws has launched its Vet Strength Weight Management Bites for Dogs, a new supplement designed to help pet parents tackle the growing problem of canine obesity in the United States.

The bite-sized supplement is formulated with functional, science-backed ingredients—probiotics, amino acids, fiber, and B vitamins—to support fat metabolism, gut health, and a sense of fullness in dogs.

Zesty Paws, a leading pet wellness brand under H&H Global, unveiled the product as a proactive step toward improving dogs’ quality of life through healthy weight management.

The launch comes amid concerning statistics: nearly 59% of American dogs are overweight or obese, according to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention.

Yet, only 17% of dog owners believe their pets are carrying excess weight, highlighting a significant gap in awareness.

Pet parents can easily incorporate our new Vet Strength Weight Management Bites for Dogs into their pup’s diet and lifestyle, with the dog-approved bites replacing a standard treat to assist with fat metabolism,” said Mafe De Alba-Williams, director of growth marketing at H&H Global.

Most effective when combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise routine, the bites can lead to benefits for both pets and their parents, especially with warmer weather and longer daylight in the months ahead.

Zesty Paws’ new supplement is now available through major retailers including Amazon, Chewy, Target, Walmart, PetSmart, PetCo, and the brand’s website.

This product launch is timely, aligning with the rapid expansion of the global pet obesity management market, which was valued at US$10.38 billion in 2024 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 6.5% through 2030.

The rise is fueled by increasing pet obesity rates, broader insurance coverage, a growing global pet population, and initiatives from both private and public sectors.

Zesty Paws says its Weight Management Bites are not just a supplement, but a lifestyle aid.

When combined with daily activity and balanced nutrition, the bites aim to help dogs manage their weight effectively, reduce the risk of chronic conditions, and enjoy a better quality of life.
