This year’s edition is expected to cover over 300,000 square meters of exhibition space and host more than 2,500 exhibitors from all over the world.
CHINA – The 27th edition of Pet Fair Asia, the largest pet industry exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region, will take place from August 20 to 24, 2025, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center.
Recognised as a leading B2B event in China, the fair provides businesses with a gateway to the rapidly expanding Asian pet market.
Since its inception in 1997, Pet Fair Asia has witnessed and contributed to the growth of China’s pet industry.
This year’s edition is expected to be the most extensive to date, covering over 300,000 square meters of exhibition space and hosting more than 2,500 exhibitors from China and worldwide.
Despite global economic challenges, China’s pet industry continues to grow steadily. According to the “Blue Book of the Pet Industry” by the Asia Pet Alliance (APA), China’s pet market was about 300 billion RMB (approximately US$42 billion) by the end of 2024.
The country’s pet product consumption rate is forecasted to grow at 5.5%, outpacing the global average of 4.7%.
The rise in pet ownership in lower-tier cities and China’s young pet owner demographic, where individuals aged 18 to 30 own over 60% of the country’s pets—signal strong future growth opportunities for businesses.
A platform for innovation and networking
China is renowned for its innovation and adaptability, and the pet industry is no exception. Pet Fair Asia will showcase many pet products and solutions, making it an ideal outsourcing platform for global buyers.
The event will welcome key industry players, including pet store operators, veterinary professionals, manufacturers, distributors, and pet grooming specialists.
To further support business networking and industry growth, the fair will feature the 13th International Pet Industry Summit (IPIS) on August 20, themed “Navigate Through the New Business Cycle.”
The summit will bring together global leaders to discuss macroeconomic trends, artificial intelligence, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies, and the latest market data.
Additionally, the Asia Pet Food Summit on August 21 will provide insights into global pet food trends, consumer behavior shifts, and product innovations. These events will enhance participants’ understanding of industry dynamics and offer opportunities for strategic partnerships.
Recognising the growing importance of supply chain efficiency, the event will introduce PFA SUPPLY, a newly branded platform designed to optimise exhibitor structure and enhance professional trade negotiations.
This initiative aims to strengthen supply chain capabilities, allowing businesses to better respond to evolving consumer demands.
International participation on the rise
Building on the success of previous editions, Pet Fair Asia continues to attract international visitors. The 2024 edition saw a 41.8% increase in international attendees compared to 2023, with overseas visitors accounting for 10% of the total audience.
The show occupied 17 indoor halls featuring a comprehensive range of pet products and services, from food and supplies to veterinary technology and smart pet gadgets.
With China maintaining an open approach to international trade, visa-free entry policies for passport holders from key markets—such as Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and several Southeast Asian nations—are expected further to boost global participation at this year’s fair.
Upcoming events
Pet Fair Asia 2025 is part of a broader series of industry events organised by GLOBUS Events Limited.
Other major upcoming exhibitions include Pet Fair Southeast Asia 2025 (October 29-31, Bangkok, Thailand) and Pet Fair Asia South China 2025 (December 5-7, Shenzhen, China). These events aim to support the pet industry’s expansion across different regions.
