This acquisition complements EW Nutritions existing gut health portfolio, which includes products such as Ventar D, Pretect D, Activo, and Activo Liquid.
AUSTRIA – EW Nutrition has strengthened its position in the animal nutrition sector by acquiring a majority stake in Green Innovation, an Austrian company specialising in in-feed solutions for gut health.
The agreement, signed on March 20, grants EW Nutrition a 52% stake in Green Innovation, marking its fourth acquisition in the past five years.
Green Innovation, based in Innsbruck, is known for its high-quality livestock feed products, focusing on health and environmental sustainability.
For example, the company’s OXILEM polyphenol-based diet enhances animal digestion and tolerance, offering a natural alternative without artificial additives.
“By acquiring 52% of our company, EW Nutrition implicitly recognises the strength of our solutions, know-how, and technologies. We are happy that we found such a solid and dynamic partner, and we are excited to work together for the next level of animal gut health,” said Alexander Herbst, CEO of Green Innovation.
For EW Nutrition, headquartered in Northern Germany, this acquisition complements its existing gut health portfolio, which includes products such as Ventar D, Pretect D, Activo, and Activo Liquid.
“With the addition of Green Innovation’s solutions, we see a great opportunity to complete our gut health portfolio and to position ourselves for the future. Challenges are evolving and so our solutions must evolve as well,” noted EW Nutrition CEO Jan Vanbrabant.
Through this deal, EW Nutrition gains ownership of innovative brands such as Argat and Oxilem and Green Innovation’s patents and expertise.
Both companies will manage the transition collaboratively, ensuring uninterrupted support for Green Innovation’s customers.
While financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed, the acquisition underscores EW Nutrition’s commitment to growth and innovation in the animal nutrition industry.
Key appointments strengthen EW Nutrition’s global team
In addition to the acquisition, EW Nutrition has expanded its leadership team with two key global appointments in January 2025.
Marie Gallissot has joined as category manager for feed quality solutions, bringing over 15 years of experience in toxin solutions and feed management.
She will oversee a portfolio that includes toxin binders, antioxidants, and acidifiers, working closely with regional affiliates and connected platforms.
Meanwhile, Nadia Yacoubi has taken on the role of phytogenic products manager within EW Nutrition’s Gut Health platform.
Holding a doctoral degree in Veterinary Sciences from Ghent and Nantes universities, she has more than a decade of expertise in gut health, animal husbandry, and food safety.
CEO Jan Vanbrabant welcomed them during their onboarding, stating, “We want to make sure we show them the full picture: who we are, where we are, and where we want to be. And we are happy that they are such a great fit to our corporate culture, bringing expertise, integrity, team spirit, and an element of fun and passion.”
