Hubbard Premium expands into Bangladesh’s poultry industry with Paragon Group

BANGLADESH –  Hubbard, a French multinational broiler breeding company, recently partnered with the Paragon Group, a Bangladeshi poultry processing firm, to introduce Hubbard Premium breeds to the Bangladesh poultry market.

The partnership was officially launched during the Hubbard Color Bird Launching Program, hosted by Paragon Group on February 15, 2025, at the Intercontinental hotel in Dhaka.

The event brought together industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders to discuss the rising demand for colored chickens in Bangladesh and the advantages of integrating Hubbard Premium Color breeds into the market.

Hubbard, acquired by Aviagen in 2018, specialises in supplying day-old grandparent (GP) and parent stock (PS) chicks for premium poultry meat production.

Collaborating with the Paragon Group aligns with the increasing demand for high-quality poultry breeds in Bangladesh, further enhancing the country’s poultry sector.

The launch event featured a presentation from Bruno Briand, Hubbard’s Global Commercial Director, who elaborated on the benefits of the Hubbard Premium breeds for various premium poultry concepts.

He emphasised how these breeds can enhance local farming efficiency, providing farmers with superior-quality chickens.

Commitment to quality and biosecurity

As part of the expansion, the first Hubbard Premium GP flock was delivered from France to Dhaka in mid-January 2025.

The day-old chicks arrived in excellent condition, meeting Hubbard’s stringent logistics and quality assurance standards.

According to Hubbard, these birds have been placed on a dedicated GP farm, designed with the highest biosecurity measures to ensure the optimal health and performance of the stock.

With local production set to begin in the second half of 2025, Paragon Group has pledged to supply high-quality Hubbard Premium PS day-old chicks, ensuring a consistent supply of premium poultry to meet the growing demand.

During the event, Moshiur Rahman, Managing Director of Paragon Group, highlighted the company’s commitment to revolutionising Bangladesh’s poultry industry with Hubbard Premium breeds.

With the launch of the Hubbard Premium Color bird, Paragon aims to ensure a sustainable and efficient supply of high-quality chicks to meet the country’s growing demand,” he stated.

This strategic introduction comes at a time when Bangladesh’s poultry industry has been steadily rising. With the poultry sector expanding at an annual rate of 15%, it remains a crucial part of the country’s livestock industry. By 2026, forecasts predict poultry production in Bangladesh will reach 267,000 metric tons.
