Brenntag expands animal nutrition portfolio with exclusive distribution deals

GERMANY – Brenntag Animal Nutrition, a global leader in the distribution of chemicals and ingredients, has bolstered its position in the European market with two landmark distribution agreements that expand its footprint and offerings in the animal nutrition and pet food industries.

These partnerships, with Pathway Intermediates and BTSA, underscore Brenntag’s commitment to providing innovative, sustainable solutions tailored to its customers’ evolving needs.

Most recently, Brenntag announced an exclusive partnership with Pathway Intermediates to distribute its Lipidol range—the world’s first absorption accelerator for animal nutrition—in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Benelux, and the Nordic regions.

Lipidol, a pioneering product containing highly concentrated Lysophospholipids, enhances nutrient absorption, improves livestock performance, and reduces nutrient and energy losses in feed.

This agreement extends a long-standing collaboration between the two companies, which began in 2014 in CEE, to new European markets.

Expanding our long-term collaboration with Pathway Intermediates to additional regions aligns perfectly with our strategic goal to be a leading solutions provider in the animal nutrition and pet food industries,” said Wouter Vullings, Director of Brenntag Animal Nutrition EMEA.

Edward Youngman, CEO of Pathway Intermediates, described the expansion as a “fruitful continuation” of their partnership, adding that it enables both companies to serve customers with cutting-edge solutions better.

In another strategic initiative, Brenntag has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with BTSA, a leading European manufacturer of natural antioxidants.

The partnership grants Brenntag the rights to distribute BTSA’s Oxabiol line of natural antioxidants, including conventional and organic variants, across Europe.

These antioxidants, crafted with tocopherol blends, rosemary, and green tea extracts, are essential for extending the shelf life of feed, protecting nutrients, and preventing spoilage caused by oxidation.

Since 2019, Brenntag and BTSA have collaborated to bring innovative antioxidant solutions to the market. Vullings highlighted the synergy of this collaboration, noting that BTSA’s antioxidants complement Brenntag’s existing offerings, strengthening its position in the EMEA region.

This partnership reinforces our ability to meet diverse customer needs in the animal feed and pet food sectors,” he said. Javier Letamendia, CEO of BTSA, praised the agreement for achieving near-complete market coverage, ensuring more customers benefit from their high-quality solutions.

Headquartered in Essen, Germany, Brenntag operates in 72 countries and employs over 17,500 people. Known for connecting suppliers and customers through profitable networks, the DAX-listed company continues to expand its influence in the animal nutrition sector.
