Wayne-Sanderson Farms completes US$25M upgrade to Mocksville Feed Mill 

USA – Wayne-Sanderson Farms, the thirdlargest poultry producer in the United States, has successfully completed a US$25 million upgrade to its Mocksville Feed Mill facility in North Carolina. 

Acquired in 2022 from J.P. Milling, the stateoftheart facility can now produce up to 4,500 tons of feed weekly, supporting over 140 family farms that supply the company’s Dobson, NC processing plant.  

The renovation highlights WayneSanderson Farms’ commitment to bolstering local agricultural infrastructure and meeting the nutritional needs of poultry farms in the region. 

“Our farm partners depend on a steady supply of quality nutrition,” said Matthew Wooten, the Dobson Complex Manager. “These renovations were imperative to continue to support their needs and satisfy demand for our products.”  

The revamped feed mill introduces several key upgrades designed to enhance operations and sustainability:  

Expanded OnSite Storage: Reduces the frequency of daily grain deliveries, optimizing logistics.  

Paved Roads and Property Enhancements: Minimizes dust, improves safety, and enhances the facility’s appearance.  

Advanced Feed Technology: Allows precise mixing of feed formulations tailored to different poultry life stages.  

Employment Opportunities: The facility employs 22 staff members and encourages local applications to fill administrative and manufacturing roles.  

In collaboration with local officials, the company rezoned the facility to facilitate these improvements, reinforcing its commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement.
