SAUDI ARABIA – Delicious Food Factory (DFF), Saudi Arabia’s leading pet food producer, has unveiled plans to construct the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the Middle East.
Situated north of Riyadh, the cutting-edge factory will cover 55,000 square meters and boast an annual production capacity of 60,000 tons of dry food and 40,000 tons of wet food.
This ambitious project aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, aiming to boost the local economy, enhance sustainability, and meet the growing regional demand for premium pet food products.
DFF, established in 2020, is already Saudi Arabia’s leading pet food producer, owning brands such as Horayra and Purevet, which specialize in cat food, and Kulaib, a recently introduced brand for dogs.
The new facility will enhance DFF’s production capabilities, allowing the company to meet the burgeoning demand for high-quality pet food across the Middle East.
Chairman Saud Al Suhaimi emphasized that the initiative aligns with Vision 2030 by boosting local GDP and promoting the circular economy.
He highlighted the factory’s reliance on premium raw materials sourced from the domestic market, which will ensure competitive pricing and superior quality.
The project also reflects the Kingdom’s push to reduce reliance on imports and establish itself as a regional leader in pet food production.
The expansion comes at a time when the pet food market in Saudi Arabia is experiencing rapid growth.
According to the IMARC Group, the market, valued at US$75.9 million in 2023, is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6% from 2024 to 2032.
The rise of pet humanization—a trend where pets are treated as family members—has driven demand for premium and specialized pet food.
Saudi consumers, increasingly aware of the health benefits of high-quality nutrition for their pets, are gravitating toward organic and sustainably sourced products.
This trend, coupled with higher disposable incomes and the convenience of e-commerce platforms, has fueled the growth of the pet food industry in the region.
The DFF factory is expected to be operational by late 2026, positioning Saudi Arabia as a hub for pet food innovation.
The facility’s ambitious production goals and alignment with consumer trends represent a significant milestone in the Middle East’s evolving pet food market.
It not only caters to pet owners’ growing needs but also aligns with global shifts towards sustainable and ethical production practices, marking a new chapter in regional pet care.
