De Heus expands in Indonesia with new animal feed facility in Central Java

INDONESIA – De Heus, a leading ISO 22000:2018 Certified animal feed producer, has bolstered its presence in Indonesia by launching its fifth production facility in Purwodadi, Central Java, signalling a significant expansion of its operations.

The new factory will cater to customers in Central Java and the surrounding regions, offering high-quality animal feed to meet the growing demand for livestock and aquaculture farming solutions.

The facility, which can produce 15,000 tons of animal feed per month, represents De Heus’ ongoing commitment to sustainable livestock farming and local community development.

Beyond production, the company offers various customer-centric services, including farm design, management, and animal health support. This investment aligns with De Heus’ broader strategy to professionalise Indonesia’s independent livestock and aquaculture farming sectors.

Kay De Vreese, President Director of De Heus Indonesia, highlighted the company’s dedication to contributing to the growth of the livestock sector in Indonesia.

We are thrilled to expand our operations in Indonesia and support sustainable livestock farming practices for independent farmers,” De Vreese remarked.

He also emphasised the factory’s role in boosting local employment and providing farmers with consistent access to top-tier feed.

The Purwodadi facility incorporates sustainable raw materials into its production processes, which aligns with De Heus’ environmental and social objectives.

Indonesia holds vast potential in livestock farming, and our goal is to support the industry’s growth by providing dependable feed solutions tailored to local needs,” added Kay.

He noted that the new facility strengthens De Heus’ operational capacity and significantly contributes to the local economy and environment.

Factory manager Nofrialdi echoed these sentiments, emphasising the company’s focus on delivering products that enhance livestock productivity and support the growth of customers’ farming operations.

The new Purwodadi plant is set to become a vital hub for farmers in the region, ensuring that the company continues to foster sustainable agricultural practices while expanding its footprint across Indonesia.

De Heus, which has been operating in Indonesia since 2018, also remains highly dedicated to supporting independent commercial poultry and fish farmers in Indonesia and is committed to not being involved in commercial broiler farming or fisheries. This is done so that De Heus does not compete with local farmers in their core business.
