TANZANIA – The Poultry Association of Tanzania (PAT) is preparing to host the highly anticipated Tanzania Poultry Show 2024, marking the event’s eighth edition.

The show will take place on October 18-19, 2024, at Mlimani City in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Since its inception in 2017, the event has grown into a pivotal gathering for East Africa’s poultry industry, attracting exhibitors, industry professionals, and enthusiasts from across the globe.

This year’s show promises to be even more significant. It will feature more than 30 exhibitors, including leading names such as Aviagen East Africa Ltd, Barefoot International, Trouw Nutrition, Falcon Animal Feeds Ltd, and Delta Veterinary Services Ltd. The event will also showcase a Dutch Pavilion, housing several booths.

As PAT member Sufian Zuberi highlighted, “We saw it fit to have an event where different stakeholders in the poultry value chain and consumers can meet, network, and deliberate on how to improve the industry.”

Attendees can expect two days of insightful discussions, business opportunities, and the latest poultry product and service innovations.

The event will host seminars where industry experts will address critical poultry production gaps, offering farmers valuable knowledge.

Among the speakers will be Lucy Msanga, a feed additives expert from Thrischool Exim, who will provide training on producing high-quality, safe feed during the seminar.

Grace Urassa, Audken Farm’s founder and a layer chicken farming specialist, another key exhibitor, emphasised the importance of raising awareness about eggs as an affordable and nutritious source of protein.

We are looking to sensitise Tanzanian citizens about the importance of eggs,” said Urassa.

She also pointed out that intensive poultry farming, while profitable, presents challenges, such as mineral deficiencies in chickens. The show will be a platform for feed additive manufacturers to introduce innovative solutions to these challenges.

The Tanzania Poultry Show is poised to strengthen the local industry and address broader challenges facing the global poultry sector, particularly in disease management.

The event comes at a time when Tanzania’s poultry production is projected to reach 80,120 metric tons by 2028, up from the 80,100 metric tons expected in 2023, according to ReportLinker market research.

PAT extends invitations to potential exhibitors as the event approaches, with a few booths still available.

Don’t miss the chance to be part of this thriving community. Download the form today and join us for another exciting year of poultry excellence,” urged the event organisers at a recent press conference.

The Poultry Association of Tanzania, founded in 2017, plays a vital role in unifying the poultry sector in Tanzania. Its mission is to represent poultry farmers and stakeholders across the entire value chain and advocate for the industry’s growth at regional and global levels.

With events like the Tanzania Poultry Show, PAT remains at the forefront of fostering collaboration, innovation, and development within the poultry industry.
