PHILIPPINES – Amlan International, a leading player in mineral-based feed additives, has launched Phylox, a groundbreaking natural solution for coccidiosis, in the Philippine poultry market.

This move marks a significant step in the company’s expansion in Southeast Asia, with Nezus Philippines Corporation securing the registration to distribute this non-pharmaceutical anticoccidial product.

Phylox is designed to address one of the most pressing challenges in poultry farming—coccidiosis.

This parasitic disease, particularly prevalent during the rainy season, poses a severe threat to poultry health and can lead to substantial economic losses due to decreased feed efficiency, slower weight gain, higher mortality rates, and the costs associated with conventional treatments.

We are thrilled to introduce Phylox to the Philippine market,” said Dr. Michael Hua, Director of Asia Pacific at Amlan International.

This product launch underscores our commitment to advancing animal health and productivity through natural solutions. Producers are seeking alternative anticoccidials like Phylox, which can be used up to slaughter without a withdrawal period, to reduce resistance and address late-stage coccidial challenges. Phylox not only addresses the critical need for effective coccidiosis control but meets the evolving market demands for antibiotic-free poultry products.

Traditionally, the poultry industry has relied on chemical drugs and antibiotics to manage coccidiosis, a practice increasingly at odds with the growing consumer demand for natural, sustainable alternatives.

Amlan’s development of Phylox represents a timely response to this shift. The product is specifically designed to meet the needs of no-antibiotic-ever (NAE) production systems, offering poultry producers a safe, effective solution that aligns with contemporary trends in animal health and food safety.

The launch of Phylox in the Philippines is particularly noteworthy given the region’s susceptibility to coccidiosis, especially during periods of high humidity and rainfall.

By providing an alternative to traditional chemical treatments, Phylox helps reduce the risk of resistance buildup and ensures that poultry producers can maintain high health and productivity standards without compromising natural principles.

Amlan will showcase Phylox at ILDEX 2024, the International Livestock, Dairy, Meat Processing, and Aquaculture Exposition, which will be held from August 28-30, 2024.

The event will allow industry professionals to explore the benefits of this innovative product at Booths H08 and J07, where Amlan’s product experts will be available to discuss its application and effectiveness.

We are excited to introduce Phylox at ILDEX,” exclaimed Jayson Fernandez, Sales Manager, Philippines at Amlan International.

In trials, Phylox has proven to have the equivalent performance to commonly used ionophores or chemicals and is compatible with anticoccidial vaccines. Its multiple modes of action in disrupting Eimeria life cycles are truly unique. We are confident this product will significantly benefit the Asia Pacific poultry market.
