OMAN —The Zubair Enterprises Development Centre (Zubair EDC), an SME empowerment initiative of The Zubair Corporation, has partnered with Tuhlub, a member of its Direct Support Programme (DSP), and the Leaders Consultancies and Development Centre to boost aqua feed industry in Oman.
This partnership is set to embark on a pioneering feasibility study, unique in its approach, on the use of Azolla as a raw material for fish feeding in Oman.
If successful, this study has the potential to significantly enhance food security in the Sultanate of Oman, a crucial aspect of the nation’s well-being.
This initiative is not just a standalone project, but a part of a larger commitment. It is a clear demonstration of The Zubair Corporation’s strategic direction towards promoting sustainability, showcasing a long-term dedication to environmental and social responsibility.
Ali Shaker, Head of Business Development and Partnerships at Zubair EDC, noted, “The agreement facilitated by Zubair EDC for this feasibility study is a testament to our dedication to supporting our DSP members in exploring innovative solutions that can enhance food security in the Sultanate.

Zubair EDC has been actively working with Tuhlub to develop various business areas, with the most recent assistance in identifying and securing several research bodies to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study on using Azolla in fish feeding.

The feasibility study agreement has been signed with Leaders Consultancies and Development Centre.
